*ALL* Fundimentalism is BAD.
Yes, *ALL* fundimentalism. Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Scientologists, etc. They’re all dangerous.
Someone asked me once why I didn’t follow any religion, preferring a more ‘silent spirituality’ instead.
Bottom line is – more people have died in the name of someone’s god over the course of history than for any other reason.
I give you as examples:
And let’s not forget, last but definitely not least, The Holocaust.
All throughout hitory, examples of stupid people killing other stupid people over who has the best imaginary friend abound. Every one of the so-called Christian religions, as well as the other Christian-based monotheistic religions, including Islam, all preach nothing but hatred.
Which is why, when some right-wing whackjob group called the “Clarion Fund” sent out a DVD that paints all Muslims as radical Jihadists, some idiot, small-minded whacko took it as an invitation to spray a 10-year old muslim girl in the face with pepper spray. (Reference story)
It’s a horrible thing that someone would perpretrate such a mindless crime on anyone, it’s even more unforgivable that someone would do this to a TEN YEAR OLD GIRL.
What amazes me even more is that the idiot Chief of the Dayton police, Richard Biehl is publically saying that there is No evidence of hate crime at the Ohio mosque.
Oh well, idiots will be idiots, and anyone who doesn’t believe this was a hate crime is an idiot. Anyone who doesn’t believe there was a link between this incident and the DVD that was mailed out is an idiot. Any police chief who fails to investigate something like this is covering it up and should not expect to be employed much longer.
I’ve long since learned not to believe in coincidences and as a member of law enforcement I’m amazingly surprised at the Dayton police-chief’s willingness to do so. Perhaps he’s afraid Santa Clause won’t visit if he stops believing in such fairy tales.
Anyway – it’s safe to say that everyone hates everyone. It’s safe to say that the following video by the great Tom Lehrer might be applicible.

What are the roots of Islam? Well, it is obviously built upon the Judeo-Christian tradition, but it is also a reaction to said tradition, which excluded and vilified the various Arab cultures. Like their Jewish brothers and sisters, the Semitic Arabs trace their lineage to Abraham, who had sex with Hagar the Egyptian, producing the progenitor of the Arab race, Ishmael. While the Jewish contingent interprets this tale to justify its own ethnocentric ideology, Muslims interpret it to fit theirs, claiming that “God” would make of Ishmael’s people a “great nation” (Gen. 21:18). Typically, instead of searching for the truth about this tale, its proponents have turned it into a political competition.
