About Us..

My first and only professionally taken photo. (Except for those cameras at the intersections - that's professional right?)
I’m told I’m a fairly good judge of character….
Jesse is a part-time blogger, full time dad in the Northern Virginia area.
When he isn’t spending his time protecting the world’s literary treasures from utter destruction, (which is not as much a stretch as it sounds) he breaks his time down as follows:
Family, day job, side-job, and the quest to find the perfect Mojito.
He can be reached at jg (at) shredderfood.com on odd-numbered days and when the moon is full.
This too shall pass.
A little about me. I was born in Hawaii where I lived until I was 15, then Tucson, Arizona for another 15 or so years. Some high-school, some college, and a lot of hard knocks make for an interesting outlook on life.
Now I’m a husband of almost 15 years, father of three, (1, maybe 2 special needs kids) business owner.
Usually I’m not politically correct, sometimes I’m overly honest, and all-to-often I’m predictably male.
A brief introduction – my kids are 6, 9, and 15 respectively. I lovingly refer to them as “Chaos, Panic, and Disorder” (In order) – my wife is not shown here because she’s old enough to write her own blog.
Chaos is afraid of nothing, has a habit of jumping off the back of the couch with a towel around his neck and a toy sword in his hand pretending he’s “Porthos” from the Three Muskateers.
Panic is afraid of everything, slightly Autistic (and it shows), and doesn’t handle either Chaos or Disorder very well (Both the people and the conditions)
Disorder really doesn’t care. In typical 15 year old fashion his room is – shall we say, unkempt, he doesn’t listen, has quite a bit of an attitude (which I will admit he comes by quite honestly) has a serious addiction to both interactive and non-interactive video entertainment and is as hormonal as any pre-pubescent kid who eats way to many non-organic chicken McDeadlets. He is also however amazing me every day, one of the smartest kids in his class, and a great basketball and soccer player. I have no doubt that he’s turning out well.
So I muddle through from day to day. Hoping at some point to get it right. As they say – the measure of success in a father is that your kids grow up to be better men human beings than you are. ![]()
So welcome to my world.
